To maximise the amount of CBD absorbed it is advised to hold the oil under your tongue for around 60-90 seconds. Similar to taking CBD sublingually , vaping CBD bypasses the digestive system where it gets processed by the liver and kidneys. Unlike sublingual methods, vapor reaches the bloodstream even faster. But with the dosing being quickly obtained the effects may not be as long lasting as other methods.
CBD Oral Ingestion
Swallowing CBD has a lower bioavailability at roughly 6%-19% This could be in the form of capsules, soft-gels or edibles. One reason that CBD is not readily absorbed when ingested is most of it is excreted without exerting any effects. CBD edibles and beverages are the most common product types to fall under this method; however, swallowing any form of CBD will have the same effective absorption rate. While swallowing CBD does have lower bioavailability than other methods, it also tends to have longer lasting effects. Think of it as the low and slow method for CBD intake and offers accurate dosing. Effects can be felt from anything between 30 to 120 minutes.

Another method for taking CBD is topically, through the skin. Applying to your skin CBD engages primarily with the Endocannabinoid receptors located in your peripheral nervous system, so this method is popular by providing targeted pain relief in specific areas, such as arthritic joints or aching muscles.
This method means it won’t enter the bloodstream because the CBD only interacts with local receptors in your skin. Meaning , topical administration will be ineffective for relieving conditions such as stress & anxiety, sleep disorders or depression.
As with sublingual administration, topical administration requires the user to be aware of the correct method of application in order to experience the maximum benefits. While you do have pores in your skin, generally the skin is not very porous. Your skin is barrier that protects our internal organs from elements outside.
